On the western edge of Scotland lies an epic wilderness. Seven hundred square miles of rugged mountains, hidden valleys and churning rivers. Here in this remote and brutal land, more than 1000 species of animals must battle each other and the elements just to stay alive.
Filmed across one tough year, in often-secret locations, this is the story of birth and death, predators and prey, struggle and survival, in one of Britain’s wildest places.
Only thirty minutes drive from the heart of Glasgow, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park is where the lowlands meet the highlands, the alpine meets the coast. It is one of the most diverse regions in the UK and boasts some of Scotland highest peaks, deepest lochs, most expansive forests and richest meadows. This series of four films follows the park’s wildlife through the seasons, revealing how their lives seamlessly weave together in this unique land.
