Anything can happen on Everest….and usually does. You might summit in perfect weather, a stoerm might wreck your one and only chance; you might have to sacrifice your shot at the summit to save a stranger’s life; your brain might swell inside your skull; you might run out of oxygen; your decision might cost someone their life; you might just lie down and die.
Everest: Beyond the Limit is about defining moments of the 2009 season that dictate the fate of featured climbers the audience really care about.
Each programme tells the story of an extraordinary event through the eyes of our chosen characters. The pre-title builds to a dramatic moment and asks: how did we get to this? What the hell happened?
The series features two main expeditions: Russell Brice’s Himex team and Eric Simonson’s International Mountain Guides, who will both be working in the Nepalese south side of the mountain to get their clients to the summit and, more importantly, safely back down.
