Production Details
The Elephant: Life After Death will follow the scavenging and decomposition process in a large African elephant. This will involve tracking an ill or wounded elephant for a few days before its death, the death itself and then the scavenging process (from lions, hyenas, jackals, vultures) and decomposition process by flies and beetles.
It will follow the nutrient recycling process and show how ever after life, all animals play a key role in their ecosystem. Remote control cameras will be set-up at the death site to film the activity, uninterrupted, over about three weeks and see what happens..
