In the Wild – Galapagos with Richard Dreyfuss

Production Details

“I’ve heard stories about the Galapagos Islands that are full of mystery, myth, even murder.  Islands which inspired ideas about the origin of life itself”.

Richard Dreyfuss’ natural curiosity takes him to the most unusual and fascinating wildlife paradise in the world, to find out where new species come from.

During his three week Galapagos adventure Dreyfuss has a series of incredible, close encounters; he comes nose to nose with the marine iguana – the only lizard in the world which feeds under the sea; sits right next to a pair of dancing albatrosses; sneaks up on a couple of copulating giant tortoises and even witnesses an attack on a masked booby chick by its elder.

Watching the struggle for life at such close quarters, Dreyfuss is able to work out for himself how competition and variation, chance and selection can eventually lead one animal to turn into another.
