African Megaflyover

Production Details

Take 3 people, two Cessna 182’s and a passion to save the planet and you have one of the most incredible adventures of our time. Real-life Indiana Jones, Mike Fay, and his husband and wife support team fly over 70 000 miles in their epic African journey. Using a state of the art digital camera, they take a photograph every 20 seconds…creating an aerial mosaic that will be used to illustrate what’s happening to the natural resources of Africa. In their seven month journey they risk their lives – and sanity, nearly die from malaria, overcome sandstorms and brush fires, and constantly struggle to keep their planes flying, all in the name of preserving what remains o fAfrica’s wilderness.

The Mega Flyover is in the great tradition of African explorers who took incredible risks and endured appalling hardships in the hope of advancing human knowledge. Mike, Peter and Hannelore may have every form of modern communication and fly rather than walk but the peril is no less real.
